Best Japanese Dictionary App for Android
One app we tend to install before any other when learning a new langauge will be
Dictionary
Dictionary, in physical form or app , is very essential for someone who wants to improve their linguistic ability. The dictionary app I have used and loved is Imiwa?, unfortuately it is only available for iOS.
After a bit of searching and asking around (mostly students from my language coaching), I came across
Japanese dictionary Takoboto.
It is very similar to Imiwa? but better. There are quite a lot of features I expect for a dictionary to be good and more.
Before diving into the aforementioned features, let’s what to look for in a dictionary
What makes a Dictionary good:
1. Should accept all these input methods
2. Should have detailed explanation on the Kanji searched: かきかた、よみかた
3. Should have example sentences/phrases
4. Should have the ability to save searched words for future reference
5. Should have the option for Flash cards
That being said , the User interface should be simple and it is a bonus to have a windows app.
Takaboto checks all the points.
